Manteresting is a Pinterest for Men site that I co-founded. The site was initially built in Python/Django. I lead the development team of six members during the initial build and have continued to develop and maintain the site as the CTO since launch in February of 2012.
Manteresting’s initial stack was Python/Django, MySQL and Apache on CentOS 6. Soon after launch, the site got hammered with traffic and we quickly had to scale. The stack now includes Nginx, distributed Memcached servers and a Varnish caching system to keep things running smooth.
